Question: Can I fax in my patent application?
Answer - No, you can not fax in your patent application. Fax machines do not currently produce a document of sufficient quality to allow the text to be scanned and processed for publication purposes.
Question: If I invent something during my grant, who owns the invention?
Answer - If research findings result in inventions, grantees have the right to retain title to these inventions, as long as they abide by the provisions of the Bayh-Dole Act of 1980, as implemented in 37 CFR 401, for their utilization, commercialization, and public availability.
Question: Who negotiates licenses for PHS inventions?
Answer - OTT negotiates licenses for NIH and FDA inventions. This includes CRADA-subject inventions and licenses for technology developed by NIH or FDA intramural scientists.
